Every
year, the School admits students from various countries,
both as a part of an international student-exchange
program,
and on a full-scale studies program.
Here are the detailed outlines of the different
possibilities:

Full Study Program
Acceptance requirements:
The school accepts applicants with experience in
the performing arts
(theater, dance) and/or the visual arts. Practical
experience or previous
studies are fundamental for multi-disciplinary training.
Foreign students applying for admittance to a full
study-program
(3 years)
1. Should fill out the registration
form,
and send it to the school including the requested
documents and registration fee.
2. Upon receiving your registration form, we shall
send you information about the entrance
exams and their dates. They consist of two phases:
an audition in which you will present
your work prepared in advance to the admittance committee,
and a group workshop.
3. The exams are usually conducted in the months
June-July-August. If you are not in
Israel at that time, you may present your work by
means of documentation such as video,
images by internet etc. (Please contact us for further
details).
Registration fees:
110 US dollars
Tuition fee are updated annually, details at the school secretariat.
Accommodations:
the school has no dormitories. A room/apartment may be
rented in Jerusalem at prices ranging from 250 to
450 US dollars a month
Language: all classes at the school are conducted in Hebrew so we recommend
you study Hebrew before coming to study. This may
be done in summer courses in Israel.
Student Exchange Program
The School of Visual Theater maintains student exchange
agreements with
various institutions in the world. If your academy
too has such an agreement,
please write us an application letter, which should
also include the following
documents:
1. an official letter from the academy, confirming
your participation in a
student-exchange program
2. your curriculum vitae
3. information about your own study program
4. recommendation letters from your relevant teachers
5. a letter in which you describe your expectations
from studies at
the School of Visual Theater
The student-exchange program does not require tuition
fees.
The guest student pays his/her tuition only at the
institution of which
he/she is a regular student. Nevertheless you are
expected to finance
your accommodation and stay in Israel.
Academic Curriculum - for a B.Ed. degree
(Hebrew speakers only)
(4-years of study)
It is possible to take the academic curriculum towards
a B.Ed. degree.
Such a program is conducted in collaboration with
the David Yellin College
of Education in Jerusalem. Applicants
are eligible for this program who are
accepted to the school, having passed the entrance
exams, have a matriculation certificate,
and passed the psychometric exams (or threshold exam
- an internal examination of the
David Yellin Teachers' College) with a combined mark
(matriculation and psychometric/threshold)
of 80 at least. Studies
towards B.Ed. degree majoring in "Elementary Education"
in the
"Combining Arts in Teaching" Department
During the 3 years of study at the School of Visual
Theater, in addition to the basic curriculum,
students will also study at the David Yellin College
of Education from their second year of studies.
During the fourth year, having presented their graduation
work at the School of Visual Theater,
students will take the full program at David Yellin
College.
The program entitles its graduates with the degree
of B.Ed. - Bachelor of Education,
and a teaching certificate.
Students interested in Ministry of Education certification
for teaching must pass an internship-
workshop during their fifth year at the college.
Tuition and Registration Fees for the Academic
Study Program
Having been accepted to the School of Visual Theater,
eligible students will be registered
as students of the David Yellin College of Education,
fill out registration forms and pay the
college registration fee (in addition to filling
out forms and paying registration fees for
the School of Visual Theater).
Second and third years - In addition to the tuition
fee paid to the School of Visual Theater,
students at the David Yellin College of Education
will pay tuition based on the number
of courses taken at the the College, according to
the College's normal rates.
Fourth year - the students will pay full tuition
fees to the David Yellin Teachers' College,
according to the College's normal rates.
Registration for
Individual Courses
Every
year the school is open to participants in individual courses
of the normal curriculum.
Acceptance to these courses depends in most cases
upon skills and previous
experience of the applicant.
