Designs puppets for theater and television. Studied at Bezal'el Academy of Art and Design, Jerusalem - sculpture, drawing, painting and animation. Graduate of the School of Visual Theater, Jerusalem - puppet design, directing, playwriting, acting and puppeteering.


The Gertrude Theater group was founded in 1995 by Yael Inbar and Revital Arieli. That year they created Gertrude's Bone Show**.

This work was performed often in the Suzanne Dallal** Center, Tel Aviv,

at the Tel Aviv Museum, Haifa Theater and elsewhere in Israel. This work was awarded first prize at Cannes International Theater Festival (France), and the Valencia International Theater Festival (Spain). It has received wonderful reviews and is performed in numerous international festivals (France, spain, Belgium, Holland, England, Scotland, Switzerland, Portugal, Italy, Brazil, Canada and the US). In 1999 the group was chosen by both the Israeli and the French Ministries of Culture to represent Israel in The Israeli Season in Paris. In 1997 Inbar and Arieli created their work Play Dead in Amsterdam,

for 6 dancers and puppets. 1998 saw their new work, Loot, produced by the Korso Theater in the Hague, with the participation of the dancer-actor Eduardo Sausa. The work was performed in the Cadance Festival in the Hague, and in various international festivals.

Further Information: The theater collaborates with various theater productions that incorporate puppets - The Kameri Theater*, Tel Aviv, in its production of Lysistrata; the Children and Youth Theater's production Elephants Don't Dance Ballet, and offers workshops focusing on interdisciplinary combinations of work with puppets for adults - such as a workshop with designer Rakefet Levi, who brought together design students from the Shenkar Design School and acting students from Tel Aviv University Theater Arts Department, for joint work on texts by Hanoch Levin.

Further Information: Rachel Hagigi is an interdisciplinary artist.
In 1997 she was co-founder of the Publication/Gallery "Bat Israel".
During her studies at the School of Visual Theater, she participated in various productions and created three food installations, out of which she eventually designed her final project - the installation Shulchan Orech.
Since graduating in 2001 she has held a leading job at the Israel Opera properties workshop, designed Joseph Sprintzak's The World Is Round for the 2002 Acco Festival, and in 2003 directed Tal Mar's final project.
At present, participates in the extension studies project at the School of Visual Theater, as well as at the Stage Design Department at the Shenkar School of Design. Member of the School of Visual Theater's vocal ensemble.
Performs in "We Were Called Up"** by Renana Raz, and has opened her own one-woman exhibition no Julyi 17, 2004, At the Artists' House ("Nidbach"** Project), Jerusalem.
